Description
The Volunteer Fire Assistance Grant Program helps communities strengthen wildfire protection and response by purchasing approved equipment for fire suppression. The N.H. Division of Forests & Lands’ Forest Protection Bureau administers the program with funding from the United States Forest Service.
Past purchases have included forestry hose, fireline packs, backpack pumps, hand tools, chainsaws, GPS units, mop-up kits, and protective gear such as helmets, goggles, gloves, and wildland clothing. The related Town Tool Program lets towns order fire equipment and personal protective equipment through the Division, including equipment for Volunteer Fire Assistance projects.
