The Institute for Advanced Study (IAS) School of Mathematics offers highly competitive memberships to mathematicians and theoretical computer scientists at all career stages, with a particular emphasis on mid-career researchers. Approximately 85 memberships are awarded annually in several categories, including postdoctoral memberships, joint positions with partner institutions, von Neumann Fellowships for distinguished mid-career scholars, the Chern Fellowship, mid-to-senior career memberships, and special-year program memberships. Members benefit from access to on-campus housing, research resources, and the opportunity to participate in a vibrant, collaborative intellectual community.
