Description
The Von Neumann Fellowships provide distinguished mid-career mathematicians and theoretical computer scientists with time and resources to devote themselves fully to research at the Institute for Advanced Study’s School of Mathematics in Princeton, New Jersey. The School supports work across all mathematical subject areas, and fellowships may last one or two terms.
Approximately eight incoming Members receive these fellowships each year. Each award includes a grant equivalent to a competitive salary, with National Science Foundation support funding four to six positions. The fellowships form part of the School’s broader membership program, which selects approximately 85 Members annually across six categories. On-campus housing and other resources are available for research visits lasting between two and eleven months.
