Description
The Vermont Outdoor Recreation Economic Collaborative (VOREC) Community Grant Program is administered through the Vermont Department of Forests, Parks and Recreation. It funds community projects that use outdoor recreation to support local economies and improve well-being. The upcoming round focuses on project development and promotion: design, scoping, and planning that can unlock other funding, as well as marketing, branding, and information-sharing about recreation resources and local businesses.
Potential projects include accessible trail planning, park design, outdoor recreation wayfinding, programs that build confidence outdoors, and plans addressing economic recovery or climate risks. Guided by Move Forward Together Vermont, the round will elevate projects addressing equity and climate resilience. Funding from the Vermont Recreational Trails Fund is reserved for trail planning projects.
