Description
The Wall Research Awards support graduate students whose thesis or dissertation research addresses sustainability and environmental protection, principally in British Columbia. Administered by UBC Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies, the awards are funded through the Peter Wall Legacy Fund, an endowment established by Peter Wall. They are intended to help master’s and doctoral students complete their degrees.
Research must relate to sustainable urban environments and infrastructure, protection of oceans and waterfronts affecting British Columbia, or sustainable approaches to resource-intensive industry in the province. Projects addressing other Canadian or international regions are also eligible, although British Columbia-focused research receives priority depending on funding availability. Review emphasizes clearly defined research objectives, relevant methods, dissemination of results, and a feasible plan for completing the thesis or dissertation.
