--- ## Description The Walter E. Stamm Mentor Award honors individuals who have demonstrated exemplary mentorship in the field of infectious diseases. Named after Dr. Walter E. Stamm, a renowned physician, researcher, and past president of the Infectious Diseases Society of America (IDSA), this award celebrates IDSA members or fellows who have played a significant role in guiding the professional development of infectious diseases professionals. The award aims to recognize those whose mentorship has left a lasting impact by inspiring, educating, and fostering the growth of future leaders in research, clinical care, and public health related to infectious diseases. --- ## Due Dates - January 20, 2026: Nomination submission opening date (Society Awards — nominations open) - April 7, 2026: Nomination submission deadline (Final deadline for Society Awards nominations, including Walter E. Stamm Mentor Award) --- ## Funding Amount - This is an honorary award; no monetary prize or research funding is provided. - Recipients are recognized by the Infectious Diseases Society of America for their exceptional mentorship. --- ## Eligibility - **Nominees:** Must be active IDSA members or fellows in good standing. - **Nominators:** Primary and at least one secondary nominator must be active IDSA members. - Members currently serving on the IDSA Board of Directors or the Society Awards Committee are not eligible to be nominated. - Past recipients of the Walter E.
