The West African Research Association (WARA) Post-doctoral Fellowship supports two to three months of summer research in West Africa. Run by WARA with funding from the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs of the U.S. State Department, the program aims to enhance transatlantic exchange and collaboration.
Fellowships support completing or elaborating on an earlier project, initiating a new research project, or deepening understanding of a topic to improve teaching effectiveness or broaden course offerings. The program connects research and teaching with WARA’s mission of promoting research on West Africa and the diaspora, scholarly exchange, accurate information, and awareness of West Africa’s place in the global community.
