Description
The Warburg/I Tatti Joint Fellowship is a collaborative, residential program offered by Villa I Tatti (The Harvard University Center for Italian Renaissance Studies, Florence) and the Warburg Institute (School of Advanced Study, University of London). It provides early and mid-career scholars with the opportunity to conduct advanced research related to early modern Italy during the 2027–2028 academic year. Fellows spend the fall term (September–December 2027) in London and the spring term (January–June 2028) in Florence, benefiting from the intellectual communities and resources of both institutions.
The fellowship supports research on the history of science, knowledge, and technology in early modern Italy, as well as the transmission and circulation of ideas, objects, and people during the Renaissance. Projects that examine transnational connections or the historiography and later influence of the Italian Renaissance are also welcomed.
