Description
WARF Named Professorships recognize distinguished research contributions by University of Wisconsin–Madison faculty. The program honors faculty who have made major contributions to advancing knowledge, primarily through research, but also through teaching and service. It provides a research award to senior faculty, with selection emphasizing the quality, significance, and productivity of their research.
The awards are supported by income from technology developed through UW–Madison faculty and staff research and licensed to industry by the Wisconsin Alumni Research Foundation (WARF). Successful licensing income returns to the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research to support research activities across campus, including these professorships.
