Description
Washington Digital Heritage Grants are administered by the Washington State Library with funding from the Institute of Museum and Library Services. They support libraries in building capacity to create and sustain digital projects involving Washington’s historically or culturally significant collections. Projects may digitize archival materials, improve metadata, develop digitization or preservation practices, create oral histories or digital exhibits, or bring primary sources into educational settings.
The program seeks work that preserves and shares Washington’s stories while supporting community-driven, regional, or statewide approaches. Public access to project outputs is expected, with possible exceptions for culturally sensitive materials. Libraries may use the Washington Rural Heritage platform or their own systems.
