The program is designed to foster research independence, encourage career development, and broaden participation in the life sciences by offering competitive compensation for students demonstrating creativity and initiative in their research. Fellows are expected to work under the guidance of a UW faculty mentor and participate in program activities, including presenting at the annual Undergraduate Research Symposium.
