Washington Research Foundation (WRF) supports up to 12 new postdoctoral scientists each year conducting innovative, translational research at Washington state research institutions. The program funds natural sciences and engineering-related disciplines, including computer and information science and mathematics, with preference for life sciences and enabling technologies.
The fellowship is designed to let early-career scientists pursue their own creative ideas in a supportive research environment. Its goal is public benefit through discoveries that can eventually lead to new products, services or practices. Applicants should explain their research’s anticipated impact rather than simply classify it as basic or translational, and demonstrate their own role in conceiving and developing the project.
