Description
The Wellness, Arts, and the Military (WAM) General Operating Support Grant is administered by the Washington State Arts Commission (ArtsWA). It supports organizations offering arts programs for military-connected individuals and communities in Washington State. For this grant, military-connected individuals include U.S. active-duty service members, guardsmen, reservists, veterans, and their families and caretakers.
The grant provides organizational operating support rather than funding for regranting or scholarships. It is part of WAM’s broader work supporting the growth of artists and arts organizations with arts and wellness programs for military-connected communities. WAM began in 2017 as a Community Connections Project supported by the NEA Creative Forces Military Healing Arts Network and has expanded through partnerships, training, funding, and outreach.
