Description
The North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality’s Division of Water Resources provides cost-share grants and technical assistance to local governments for water resources development. Eligible project types span general and recreational navigation, water management, stream restoration, water-based recreation, Natural Resources Conservation Service Environmental Quality Incentives Program (NRCS-EQIP) stream restoration, and feasibility or engineering studies.
The program groups navigation and coastal storm damage mitigation work as coastal infrastructure projects; non-navigation work falls under State and Local projects. Separate guidance addresses State and Local projects, NRCS-EQIP stream restoration, shallow-draft navigation channel dredging, flood resiliency, and coastal storm damage mitigation. Applicants should use the guidance for their project type.
