Description
The Water Infrastructure Finance Authority of Arizona (WIFA) runs the Water Supply Development Revolving Fund to help small, rural communities develop water supplies outside the state’s major urban centers. It offers low-cost financing and technical assistance for eligible water supply projects. Water supply development can include acquiring water rights, developing facilities for delivery or storage, reclaiming or reusing water, replenishing groundwater, and conserving existing supplies.
WIFA scores projects against local water demand, expected benefits, feasibility, and community financial need. Its review considers whether a project improves long-term supply reliability, benefits multiple jurisdictions, supports conservation, and makes effective use of funding. The Water Supply Development Revolving Fund Committee reviews applications and recommends funding decisions to WIFA’s board.
