Description
The Water4All 2026 Joint Transnational Call supports research and innovation in sustainable water management. UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) funds the UK contribution through the Natural Environment Research Council (NERC) and Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC), alongside the Water4All partnership and European Commission. The wider call brings together funding organisations from 29 countries.
UK-funded projects can investigate integrated monitoring and assessment of surface water and groundwater; nature-based approaches to water retention, storage and groundwater resilience; or smart, secure and adaptive water infrastructure. Projects may combine these topics across local systems, river basins and groundwater systems. The call aims to inform evidence-based water management policy and strengthen long-term water resilience. Extreme events and circularity are outside its scope.
