Description
Watson-funded UTRA is a collaboration between Brown University’s Watson School of International and Public Affairs and the Brown Undergraduate Teaching and Research Awards (UTRA) program. It provides student research assistant support for Watson faculty research, connecting faculty projects with student research roles through the University’s UTRA process.
The initiative aims both to support faculty research and to make the recruitment of student research assistants more transparent and inclusive. Brown reports that the new UTRA process has diversified both the research assistant applicant pool and the hiring pool. Faculty are encouraged to submit research proposals to the University for UTRA funding.
