--- ## Description Wausau Marathon County Impact Grants are offered by the Community Foundation of North Central Wisconsin to support projects and programs that create a positive, long-term impact on the quality of life in the greater Wausau area and other communities within Marathon County. These grants are designed to address specific community needs or provide capacity-building resources to help nonprofit organizations enhance their level of service. Funding is matched with donor support to foster innovative, impactful initiatives across diverse areas such as arts, education, health and human services, and resource preservation. --- ## Due Dates - May 25, 2026 (last Monday in May) - August 31, 2026 (last Monday in August) - November 30, 2026 (last Monday in November) - February 22, 2027 (last Monday in February) Applications are reviewed quarterly, and notifications are sent by the end of the month in which the application is reviewed. --- ## Funding Amount - Grant range: $1,000 to $100,000 per award - Funding amount depends on the scope and impact of the project - Grants are awarded quarterly --- ## Eligibility - Applicants must be tax-exempt 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations. - Projects must directly enhance the quality of life in the greater Wausau area or other communities within Marathon County. - Proposals should either: - Make a long-term, tangible difference in meeting a specific community need (e.g., capital improvements, equipment), or - Provide capacity-building resources to elevate the organization’s level of service (e.g., new program development). - Organizations must adhere to the foundation’s nondiscrimination policy. - Faith-based organizations may apply, but funds cannot be used for worship, proselytizing, or religious instruction, and services must be available to all community members. - The following are not eligible for funding: - Annual campaigns - Debt retirement - Direct support of individuals - Endowments - Lobbying - Operating expenses or losses - Organizations not following the nondiscrimination policy --- ## Application Process 1. **Discuss your project idea** with Kelly Price, Director of Programs and Donor Relations, prior to applying (required for all applicants). 2. Submit your application online via the [Community Foundation’s grant portal](https://www.grantinterface.com/Home/Logon?urlkey=cfoncw). 5. Await notification, which will be sent electronically by the end of the review month. A final report is required within two years of receiving the grant, including photos for possible use in the Foundation's marketing efforts.
