The Boettcher Foundation’s Webb-Waring Biomedical Research Awards support scientific innovation by funding early-career biomedical investigators at Colorado research institutions and hospitals. Recipients, known as Boettcher Investigators, receive support at a critical stage in establishing themselves and their research. The program aims to help them become competitive for major awards from federal agencies and private sources, keep promising research on track, and retain scientific talent in Colorado.
The program continues the Webb-Waring Foundation’s tradition of supporting biomedical research in the state. In 2008, Webb-Waring entrusted its assets to the Boettcher Foundation, which agreed to match those resources. Together with a contribution from the University of Colorado, this arrangement created a dedicated funding stream for promising biomedical researchers at Colorado institutions.
