    Description

    The Welch Summer Scholar Program (WSSP), sponsored by The Welch Foundation, is a five-week immersive summer research experience for high-achieving Texas high school students interested in chemistry. Participants are placed at one of six leading Texas universities, where they engage in hands-on research alongside faculty and graduate mentors. The program is designed to cultivate scientific curiosity, provide exposure to advanced research methods, and encourage further study in STEM fields. All essential costs—including housing, meals, laboratory expenses, and on-campus activities—are fully funded by the Foundation. The program does not provide a direct monetary award or stipend to participants.
