Summary: Connects Texas chemistry researchers through themed retreats to foster collaboration and funds innovative pilot research projects.
The WelchX Retreat and Pilot Grants program is designed to catalyze creative, collaborative research in the chemical sciences across Texas. It does so by convening early- to mid-career faculty at themed, in-person retreats focused on pressing scientific challenges—such as the "Chemistry of Life" or "Chemical Research for Grand Challenges." These events foster networking and ideation, with the goal of forming new research teams. Teams that emerge from the retreat are then eligible to apply for pilot grants to support the collaborative projects they develop, strengthening the chemical sciences community statewide.
