Description
Wisconsin DNR’s Well Abandonment Grant Program helps pay for the materials and labor needed to properly fill and seal abandoned or unused private wells. It serves eligible people responsible for a private well that needs abandonment, including landowners, renters and shared well owners.
A licensed well driller or pump installer must perform the work according to DNR specifications. The grant reimburses eligible expenses after the work is complete and DNR reviews a payment claim. The Bureau of Community Financial Assistance administers the grant.
