Autoimmune in Menopause and Pregnancy Transitions (AMPt) is a Wellcome Leap program jointly funded by Pivotal. It focuses on rheumatoid arthritis (RA), multiple sclerosis (MS), and lupus, investigating how measured hormone transitions shape women’s risk of disease onset and flares. The program seeks to connect endocrine and immune measurements rather than use chronological age as a substitute for hormonal state.
AMPt supports computational modeling, longitudinal cohorts, blood-based biomarker validation, and interventions timed to postpartum and menopausal transitions. Its goals include predicting flares at least four weeks ahead, forecasting new disease at least twelve weeks ahead, and diagnosing seronegative RA within its approximately twelve-week treatment window. Together, these advances aim to reduce flares and new disease by at least one-third and return the equivalent of one healthy day a week to millions of women.
