Description
Sponsored by the American Psychoanalytic Association’s Candidates’ Council, this award recognizes exceptional faculty who teach psychoanalytic candidates at APsA institutes and centers. It encourages excellence, engagement, and innovation in classroom teaching, rewards gifted educators, and promotes the exchange of innovative curricula and effective teaching approaches among institutes and centers.
The award celebrates teachers who deepen understanding of psychoanalytic concepts and theories of mind, cultivate creative, flexible, and compassionate thinking, and inspire lifelong learning. It specifically recognizes teaching of candidates, unlike the Edith Sabshin Teaching Award for teaching non-candidates. Two recipients from different institutes or centers are selected annually and present a collaborative session demonstrating teaching excellence at the APsA National Meeting.
