Description
The West Virginia Higher Education Policy Commission offers this grant through its Health Sciences Division to help offset the cost of hosting a Nursing Academy. The program is part of the Commission’s work to address West Virginia’s growing need for highly trained nurses.
Academies introduce middle and early high school students to nursing experiences and career opportunities while helping students and their families understand the education that leads to professional nursing. Activities may help students choose preparatory high school courses, explore different nursing careers, build confidence, and find encouragement to excel in school.
