Description
The Sigma/Western Institute of Nursing Research Grant encourages qualified nurses to advance nursing through research, supporting proposals for pilot and/or developmental studies. Funding is provided jointly by the Sigma Foundation for Nursing and the Western Institute of Nursing (WIN). The program supports registered nurses who hold a doctoral degree or are enrolled in a doctoral program and can implement their research when funding is received.
Sigma’s research priorities include healthy communities through health promotion, disease prevention, and recognition of social, economic, and political determinants; evidence-based practice; the needs of vulnerable populations, including people who are chronically ill or poor; and nurses’ research capacity. Recipients complete their projects within one year and share their findings through reporting, repository submission, publications, and presentations.
