Description
The Sierra Nevada Conservancy (SNC) funds high-impact forest-health projects that create more resilient landscapes and watersheds while reducing wildfire risk in the Sierra-Cascade region. The program supports planning for specific future on-the-ground projects and implementation projects that directly benefit communities, critical infrastructure, or unique natural resources.
Potential work includes constructing or improving fuelbreaks, protecting water supplies, improving safety along community access routes, and safeguarding hospitals, schools, giant sequoias, and other valued assets. The program emphasizes ecologically sound forest management, including beneficial fire, alongside community protection.
