Description
Wildland Seed Collection is a seed certification service administered by the Nevada Department of Agriculture (NDA), not a grant or direct financial award. NDA provides source-identified seed inspections and corresponding official “yellow tags” for wildland-collected seed. These give purchasers additional assurance that they are receiving the seed they expect. Certification tags are issued based on source, genetic identity, and purity only.
The service forms part of NDA’s broader native seed work, which responds to demand for locally sourced, high-quality native seed that is outpacing production capacity. NDA supports seed quality while encouraging production of alternative, water-friendly crops. The department is Nevada’s official Seed Certification Agency, with certification governed by Nevada seed statutes, regulations, and Association of Official Seed Certifying Agencies standards.
