Description
The State Agriculture Development Committee (SADC), within the New Jersey Department of Agriculture, administers these grants through the Farmland Preservation Program’s post-preservation stewardship work. The grants help permanently preserved farms protect crops from wildlife losses and continue agricultural use of preserved land.
Supported projects install high-tensile woven wire deer fencing, electric bear fencing, or other wildlife fencing. The program provides cost-sharing toward materials and installation. As part of the broader post-preservation program, preserved farms are monitored annually for compliance with their farmland preservation deeds of easement.
