Description
The Georgia Department of Natural Resources’ Wildlife Viewing Grants Program supports projects that develop or improve public opportunities to experience nongame wildlife, rare native plants and natural habitats. Administered through the Wildlife Conservation Section, it emphasizes species, habitats and conservation actions identified in Georgia’s 2025 State Wildlife Action Plan, with viewing opportunities that have little or no negative impact on these resources.
Projects may include signage, interpretive materials and planting native species to create or enhance natural habitats. Priorities include reaching traditionally underserved audiences, meeting significant community wildlife-viewing needs and offering creative experiences. The program also values partnerships, realistic planning, long-term maintenance and scientifically sound interpretation that helps viewers understand Georgia’s conservation priorities.
