Description
The Will Eisner Graphic Novel Growth Grant supports libraries seeking to expand or improve existing graphic novel collections, services, and programs. Administered by the American Library Association’s Graphic Novels and Comics Round Table and sponsored by the Will and Ann Eisner Family Foundation, it promotes public awareness of graphic literature, sequential art, and comics as a literary medium.
The grant supports collection development and graphic novel-themed events at libraries or other community locations. Growth proposals should demonstrate successful existing work and explain how additional support will deepen its community impact. Priorities include a clearly defined need, a strong connection between library objectives and community benefits, and attention to the quality, artistry, and innovation of graphic novels. Manga qualify as graphic novels.
