Description
The William and Sandra Bennett Clinical Scholars Program, funded by the American Society of Nephrology and administered through KidneyCure, supports the next generation of clinician educators. It helps aspiring nephrology educators acquire teaching skills and develop projects that examine, supplement, or strengthen nephrology education. Projects should generate new knowledge, address an educational gap, and have an impact beyond the applicant’s institution.
Supported work can include curricular reform, educational innovations, new teaching methods, competency-based assessment tools, professional development, and professionalism. Projects must include appropriate metrics for evaluation, implementation, and dissemination. Recipients are expected to publish findings, share project information at national meetings, and acknowledge the program’s support. They are also expected to acquire teaching skills and are encouraged to pursue formal or semiformal educational training during the funded years.
