Description
The William J. Gies Award is an annual recognition administered by the International Association for Dental Oral and Craniofacial Research (IADR) and supported by J. Morita Corporation. It honors the best paper published in the Journal of Dental Research (JDR) during the preceding year.
Unlike many IADR/AADOCR awards restricted to particular research disciplines, this award is open to anyone who publishes in JDR. Its scope spans the journal’s research disciplines, with the 2026 recipients representing biological research, biomaterials and bioengineering, and clinical research. Nominations may come from individuals, the Gies Award Committee, or the JDR Editor.
