Description
The William R. Tyler Fellowship is part of Dumbarton Oaks Research Library and Collection’s Harvard Programs. It supports advanced Harvard graduate students researching Pre-Columbian, Mediterranean and Byzantine, or garden and landscape topics, including related regions and periods. Fellows develop their dissertation research and professional skills through access to Dumbarton Oaks’ scholarly community, collections, and staff expertise.
The fellowship spans two consecutive academic years. In the first, fellows live near the Washington, DC campus and work with a staff expert on an institutional project for half their time. The second year has no residence requirement; fellows may use it for dissertation-related travel and archival research.
