Description
The Virginia Water Resources Research Center has offered the William R. Walker Graduate Research Fellow Award since 1999. It supports graduate students pursuing water resources whose undergraduate studies were in another field or who have returned to graduate school after professional work. The award is intended to help them build a path into the field rather than prescribe a particular research topic.
Recipients may use the funds at their discretion while enrolled at a university. Supported uses include professional development, such as workshops and conferences, and materials that enhance professional productivity, such as books and software. Awards take effect at the start of the fall semester following the application deadline.
