The American College of Cardiology’s William A. Zoghbi Global Research Initiative supports innovative clinical research with potential to improve care and outcomes for patients at risk of or living with cardiovascular disease. It funds work across cardiovascular care, with dedicated awards for heart failure and cardiometabolic health. Proposals exploring new approaches to prevention and treatment in specific communities or patient populations are encouraged.
Outcomes studies should examine clinical or systems-of-care interventions, including quality improvement, and measure effects important to patients and society: mortality, morbidity, quality of life, or economic effects. Research addressing gender, race, geographic, and economic inequalities in cardiovascular care is also considered. The initiative is supported by William A. Zoghbi, Bayer, Wael Al Mahmeed, and Raghib Hussain’s gift honoring Jamal S. Rana.
