The Wilmer Souder Award is the oldest of the IADR Science Awards, established in 1955 to honor Dr. Wilmer Souder's foundational contributions to dental materials research. Supported by an endowment from the IADR Dental Materials Group, this award is conferred annually by the International Association for Dental, Oral, and Craniofacial Research (IADR) and its U.S. division, the AADOCR. It is the highest honor in the field of dental materials research, recognizing scientists whose research has significantly advanced, or shows strong promise to advance, dental service to the public and overall dental health.
