Description
NYSERDA’s Clean Heat for All: Packaged Window Heat Pump Demonstration Program advances cold-climate packaged window heat pumps (PWHPs) as a plug-and-play electrification solution for multifamily building retrofits throughout New York State. Building on the NYCHA Clean Heat for All pilot, the program supports products that provide efficient heating and cooling without extensive building infrastructure upgrades.
The program has two concurrent phases: Phase I qualifies participants and products against technical specifications, while Phase II supports purchase and installation at demonstration sites. NYSERDA manages third-party monitoring using utility data, runtime logging, tenant feedback, and energy-use analysis. Results will assess effectiveness, durability, cost impact, and user satisfaction, informing potential eligibility under broader NYS Clean Heat or other Clean Energy Fund programs.
