Description
The NYSERDA Window Heat Pump Demonstration Program provides incentives to accelerate the adoption of cold-climate packaged window heat pumps (PWHPs) in multifamily buildings across New York State. The program aims to reduce the cost of purchasing and installing PWHPs and requires rigorous performance monitoring to generate real-world data on effectiveness, durability, cost impact, and user satisfaction. The initiative supports broader market transformation and decarbonization goals by informing future incentive programs and scaling up proven technologies.
The program operates in two concurrent phases:
- Phase I: Qualifies manufacturers, suppliers, or distributors whose PWHP products meet technical specifications.
- Phase II: Provides incentives for installing approved PWHPs in eligible multifamily buildings, with required performance monitoring at demonstration sites.
