    Description

The Windows on the World (WOW) program, administered by the Air Force Office of Scientific Research (AFOSR), provides opportunities for exceptional Air Force scientists and engineers (AF S&Es) to conduct full-time research at non-government foreign laboratories for up to 179 days. The program's goals are to:

    • Facilitate side-by-side research with leading international scientists.
    • Enable the transfer of new skills, methods, and knowledge to the Air Force upon return.
    • Strengthen and expand international research partnerships.
    • Broaden participants’ exposure to the global science and technology community, supporting professional development and the Air Force’s S&T mission.

AFOSR pays all temporary duty (TDY) costs, while the participant’s home organization continues to pay regular salary and benefits. Upon completion, participants return to their home organization to share insights and foster ongoing collaborations.
