    Description

The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) administers this program under 2025 Wisconsin Acts 200 and 201 to help Wisconsin communities address perfluoroalkyl and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) contamination. The program aims to ensure access to safe drinking water and disrupt PFAS exposure through community sampling and follow-up assistance.

Cycle A supports private drinking water well sampling, eligible school and child care water supplies, and sampling throughout the wastewater treatment process. It also supports administrative work to design and implement sampling projects. For grant-sampled wells exceeding Wisconsin drinking water health advisory levels, applicants must be prepared to offer temporary alternative water, filtration, treatment, or other short-term exposure-disruption measures for at least six months.
