--- ## Description This award honors an individual from any discipline and academic rank for a singular scientific achievement that has significantly advanced the field of neuro-oncology. Sponsored by the American Academy of Neurology (AAN) and supported by friends of Dr. WK Alfred Yung, the award aims to celebrate impactful, innovative research in neuro-oncology. The recipient will present a 10-minute lecture during a neuro-oncology scientific session at the AAN Annual Meeting and receive formal recognition. --- ## Due Dates - Anticipated application deadline: **October 2026** *All dates are projected based on the annual cycle; check the program page for updates.* --- ## Funding Amount - **Award:** Minimum $1,000 prize, certificate of recognition, and complimentary registration for the AAN Annual Meeting. - **Other Support:** No multi-year or salary funding; this is a recognition award, not a research grant. --- ## Eligibility - Open to individuals of any discipline and academic rank. - Research must be in the field of neuro-oncology. - Applicants do **not** need to be AAN members. - Both self-applications and nominations are accepted. - Industry employees are **not** eligible. - Award is based on a singular scientific achievement, not cumulative career accomplishments. --- ## Application Process Applicants (or nominators) must submit: - Completed application form (available via AAN website) - Current curriculum vitae (CV) - Letter from the applicant summarizing: - The focus of their research program - Independent contributions to neuro-oncology - Reasons for receiving the award - A maximum 300-word summary on neuro-oncology research in which the applicant played an important role (note: this abstract is ineligible for submission to the AAN Scientific Program) **Nominations:** Nominators fill out the application form and select "I wish to nominate someone."
