Description
The Excellence in Education Initiative, administered by the Sioux Falls Area Community Foundation, supports teachers of all grade levels with innovative ideas for enriching students’ educational experiences. It funds teacher-designed projects that teach concepts creatively, develop new curriculum, or enhance curriculum already in use. Projects may take place in a single classroom or across an entire school.
Since the initiative began, hundreds of programs and activities designed by teachers throughout the Sioux Falls area have received funding. A team of local educators reviews proposals, considering creative teaching approaches and curriculum improvements that can be completed by the end of the school year. The program serves educators at eligible schools and centers in four South Dakota counties.
