The Women’s Breast Health Fund (WBHF) is a permanent endowment of the Community Foundation of Greater Birmingham, established in 2009 by anonymous donors. It supports holistic care that improves life for women facing breast cancer, their loved ones, and the healthcare professionals caring for survivors. Its mission spans diagnosis, follow-up care, and every subsequent stage of life in Blount, Jefferson, Shelby, St. Clair, and Walker counties, Alabama.

Interests include patient navigation, caregiver support, education and communication tools, healthcare-team support, long-term survivorship, exercise and wellness, workplace education, telemedicine, sexuality, and spirituality. The fund accepts community-based participatory research and considers mission-relevant capital projects with an imminent start date. Priority consideration goes to proposals addressing its Community Needs Assessment findings and demonstrating collaboration with breast cancer organizations and programs in the five-county region.
