The Women’s Breast Health Fund is a permanent endowment of the Community Foundation of Greater Birmingham, established to support holistic breast cancer care for women, their loved ones, and healthcare professionals across Blount, Jefferson, Shelby, St. Clair, and Walker counties in Alabama. The fund’s mission is to improve quality of life for those impacted by breast cancer, spanning the entire continuum from diagnosis through follow-up care and survivorship. Grants have historically supported collaborative, community-based initiatives such as the Forge Breast Cancer Survivorship Center, focusing on support, education, and resources for survivors and co-survivors, rather than direct medical research or treatment.
