Description
Managed by the Women’s Caucus of the American Society for Eighteenth-Century Studies (ASECS), this annual fellowship supports scholarly editing or translation of eighteenth-century primary texts on feminist or Women’s Studies subjects. Eligible work includes texts in languages other than English, with projects typically addressing the period from 1660 to 1820.
The fellowship supports projects ranging from a scholarly article to a longer scholarly edition or a classroom edition with a strong scholarly basis. Its focus is work already well under way rather than completed projects. Projects must edit or translate works by eighteenth-century women writers, significantly advance understanding of women’s experiences in the eighteenth century, or offer a feminist analysis of eighteenth-century culture or society.
