Description
The Émilie Du Châtelet Award is an annual prize offered by the American Society for Eighteenth-Century Studies (ASECS) and managed by its Women’s Caucus. It supports independent or adjunct scholars undertaking research on a feminist or Women’s Studies subject related to the eighteenth century.
The award funds work already in progress, comparable in scope to a scholarly article or book chapter, rather than the launch of an entirely new project. Eligible research advances understanding of women’s experiences or contributions to eighteenth-century culture, or offers a feminist analysis of any aspect of eighteenth-century culture or society. The program therefore encompasses both scholarship centered on women and feminist examinations of the period’s broader cultural and social life.
