Description
The Orthopaedic Research Society (ORS) presents this annual award to recognize a woman biologist, clinician, or engineer who has made significant lifetime contributions to understanding the musculoskeletal system and musculoskeletal diseases and injuries. It honors a record of scientific and professional achievement rather than funding a proposed research project.
The award combines recognition of research accomplishments with outstanding leadership through service to the professional community and mentorship of colleagues and trainees. Service includes contributions to the broader musculoskeletal community, including other societies and organizations. The award is associated with the ORS Women’s Leadership Forum, which supports women throughout their orthopaedic research careers and helps them obtain leadership roles in orthopaedic-related organizations.
