Description
The Wisconsin Arts Board’s Woodland Indian Arts Program uses Wisconsin–Tribal Gaming Compact funds to strengthen cultural and economic support for traditional and contemporary Native American arts. It supports artistic activities among Wisconsin’s tribes, bands, and urban Indian communities, with priority for work that builds a lasting structure of support for Native arts and culture.
Eligible work includes Native arts administration; documentation, preservation, or revitalization of arts, language, foodways, and cultural knowledge; professional development; and presentations such as festivals, markets, exhibitions, and media. Planning for these activities is also eligible. Projects may be new, expanded, or existing.
