Description
This funding opportunity from the New York State Education Department provides multi-year grants to support adult education and literacy services statewide under the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) Title II and the Welfare Education Program (WEP). The goal is to help out-of-school youth and adults develop essential literacy skills, attain secondary credentials, and gain knowledge and abilities needed for employment, career advancement, and self-sufficiency. Funding is available for four program areas:
- Adult Basic Education and Literacy Services (including Integrated Education and Training)
- Integrated English Literacy and Civics Education (IELCE)
- Corrections Education and Other Institutionalized Education Programs
- Literacy Zones
