Workplace Accessibility Grants
Workplace Accessibility Grants support small Rhode Island employers in making physical, procedural, and programmatic workplace changes that remove barriers and expand job opportunities for people with disabilities.

Funding Amounts: 100% reimbursement of eligible costs, up to $5,000 per employer per calendar year; $25,000 available in FY26

Description
Established by the Governor’s Workforce Board (GWB) and funded through the Rhode Island Job Development Fund, the Workplace Accessibility Grant Program helps small employers make their workplaces more accessible to people with disabilities. Its goal is to expand employment and economic opportunity by helping employers identify and address barriers to participation at work.
The program reimburses reasonable costs for physical, procedural, or programmatic changes to jobs, work environments, and business practices. Examples include ramps and accessible equipment, communication and workplace training, assistive technology, website accessibility, and improvements to hiring practices. Employers may apply separately for a consultation and for solutions identified through that consultation.
