    The World Premier International Research Center Initiative (WPI), managed by the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) and funded by Japan’s Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT), aims to establish globally recognized research centers in Japan. These centers are designed to attract leading researchers worldwide by offering a world-class research environment, high autonomy, and innovative research administration. The initiative seeks to revolutionize research operations in Japan and maximize international visibility and scientific impact.
